Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club: I, Robot by Isaac Asimov

Come visit exciting new worlds each month in our science fiction and fantasy book club! Registration encouraged. I, Robot is a collection of nine shorter stories. The stories, framed as a series of interviews with robo-psychologist Dr. Susan Calvin, examine ethical dilemmas and conflicts that arise from robots interacting with humans and with each other, ultimately chronicling a fictional history of robotics.

Historical Fiction Book Club

Teen Murder Mystery Party

Join fellow teens to solve a murder mystery! We will be playing Hunt a Killer's "Baker's Dozen."

Description from game maker: You’re about to be mixed up in a baking murder mystery! Or, rather, a murder-in-progress mystery.

As the producer on America’s most-popular baking competition show, you’ve uncovered a murderous plot: one of the five remaining contestants is planning to poison a judge during the semi-final episode! The icing on the cake? If you tell anyone about the poisoning, it could alert the killer and give them a chance to escape.

To prevent a death and save the show, you’ll have to sift through the evidence, determine which contestant is a killer in disguise, and catch them before the final course is served! Can you rise to the occasion and solve the Baker's Dozen?

Phoenix Art Museum -OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

The story of Judith and Holofernes was first written down in the 3rd century BCE and has
long been a popular subject for artists. Discover how incredibly different and fascinating
the story can be in the hands of different artists. With artworks dating from 1100 CE to the
present, we will use Judith’s story to explore art history from the Medieval period to
Contemporary art as well as the changing view of women over that same time.

Saturday Baby Playdate for Pre-Walkers

We welcome babies under 14 months, or pre-walkers, to this program.

Babies and their caregivers are invited to a baby playdate! Join us for playing, reading, listening to music, and socializing. Unlike a storytime, this program is designed for babies to engage in free play.

Registration is required. Please only register the infant(s) attending the event. To provide quality one-on-one bonding time and a safe environment for babies, we politely ask that older siblings not attend this event. Family Storytimes and events listed as Family-All Ages are open to all ages.
