Art Docent Talks: The Italian High Renaissance

Event Type: Adult
Age Group(s): Adults
Date: 3/6/2025
Start Time: 1:00 PM
End Time: 2:00 PM
Description:
Docents from Phoenix Art Museum present a series of one-hour talks on a wide variety of art topics. Art is a transcendent force, and we'll experience its power by viewing and discussing various periods and works of art. This Month: The Renaissance period (14th - 17th centuries) transitioned from the Middle Ages
to the Modern Era with a renewed interest in ancient Greek and Roman
humanism, innovative arts, architecture, literature, natural sciences and
beyond. The Italian city states of Florence and Rome were at the center of this
movement. Three towering figures - Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and
Raphael - graced the zenith of Italian High Renaissance (early 1490s - 1520).
Join Jeanne as she takes us back to the time of these artists and their influences
on art.
