Event Type: Adult Age Group(s): Adults Date: 3/7/2024 Start Time: 1:00 PM End Time: 2:00 PM Description: Docents from Phoenix Art Museum present a series of one-hour talks on a wide variety of art topics. Art is a transcendent force, and we'll experience its power by viewing and discussing various periods and works of art. This month:
Library: Georgia T. Lord Library Library location Meet artists that tend to be under-represented in American museums. Selfidentified as Navaho/Pueblo Laguna, Anishinabe, Mexican, Black, Gay & Queer, these artists produce work ranging from abstracted to hyper-realism. This presentation includes a Presidential portrait and a work inspired by Picasso’s Guernica. Images of performance and political art, along with installation and immersive art will be shared. The art tells powerful, compelling stories of chaos, transformation, and harmony. Join us in conversations that support our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
