Event Type: All Ages Age Group(s): Family - All Ages Date: 10/26/2021 Start Time: 6:00 PM End Time: 7:30 PM Description: Building on the legacy of Hubble: What will the James Webb Space Telescope reveal about the universe and our place in the cosmos? ASU Postdoc Tim Carleton and undergraduate Liam Nolan will present the research they and their collaborators conduct as relates to the soon-to-be-launched James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). JWST is often described as a spiritual successor to the Hubble Space Telescope, which has formed the foundation of groundbreaking scientific research, and captured the public imagination with images such as the Hubble Ultra Deep Field. With JWST, we will be able to see even further into the history of our universe, and gain a better understanding of our place in the cosmos.
