 In 2012 the National Institute of Mental Health calculated that 43.7 million adults aged 18 or older suffered from some mental health issue. Chances are you, or someone you know and love has struggled with mental health problems. In this series of free classes, Licensed Counselor Neil Hetzel will help you understand the basics of these common mental health issues.

This month's topic is depression. Depression is real. Depression is an illness and like the flu, a cold, or heart disease it isnít something you can ďjust snap out ofĒ. Its nature can leave you feeling alone, misunderstood, and hopeless. Worse, because of existing stigmas around mental illness you may even feel weak willed or defective.
