GINI KOCH WORKSHOP: "Short Stories -- The Short, the Long, and the In-Between"

Event Type: NONE
Date: 5/4/2013
Start Time: 11:00 AM
End Time: 3:30 PM
Description:
Writing a short story is very different from writing a novel, and short story lengths present different challenges. Learn tips and techniques from successful, multi-published author GINI KOCH who writes -- and sells -- both novels and short stories of all lengths.

All participants must bring an electronic copy of a short story they've written (5,000 words or less), and a flash drive with enough storage space for their story and presentation notes. Laptops are required for the event; a limited number of laptops will be available on site for this event (if you will need to borrow a laptop, please call Shelley at the Queen Creek library to make arrangements).

GINI KOCH writes the fast, fresh and funny Alien/Katherine “Kitty”
Katt series for DAW Books, the Necropolis Enforcement Files series, and the Martian Alliance Chronicles series for Musa Publishing. As G.J. Koch she writes the Alexander Outland series. She also writes under a variety of other pen names including Anita Ensal, Jemma Chase, A.E. Stanton, and J.C. Koch, and has been published in short stories, novelettes, novellas, poetry, and short humor as well as novel-length fiction. Her short stories have been included in several anthologies, including Boondocks Fantasy and Love and Rockets, both from DAW Books.

She speaks frequently on what it takes to become a successful author and other aspects of writing and the publishing business.
