Event Type: Adult Age Group(s): Adults Date: 1/12/2026 Start Time: 2:00 PM End Time: 3:00 PM Description: Phoenix Art Museum docents present A Tale of Two Baroques: Touched by Grace, Consumed by Fire. Explore two distinct styles of Baroque art that reflect the same contrast: the fiery theatricality of Roman Baroque and the refined elegance of its Florentine counterpart. This presentation will reveal why Baroque art of either kind still stirs us. Registration needed. Adults.
Library: Sun City Branch Library location Location: Program Room Other Information: Presenter Don Skypeck is a semi-retired attorney who now spends less time in the courtroom and more time as a docent at Phoenix Art Museum. Nowadays, Don is less interested in presenting arguments than in trading thoughts about art, and especially enjoys talking with others about what catches their eye or sparks their curiosity. A lifelong admirer of Italian Renaissance and Baroque works, Don is steadily developing a deeper appreciation for modern and contemporary art—something he credits entirely to his work as a docent.
