JRR Tolkien set his famous Lord of the Rings and Hobbit stories in a world based on Celtic and Norse mythology. In this virtual tour, Cathie Rubins of the Phoenix Art Museum will guide us through original art by Tolkien, historical inspiration behind the art design of the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, as well as treasure discovered in burials and hoards in Great Britain dating back to the 2nd millennium BCE. Join us for a closer look at the art that inspired Middle Earth!
