 Please note: Ceramics projects will be returned to the library 2 weeks after the event. Libraries further than 30 minutes from the 85396 zip code will need to make special arrangements for the Ceramic pick-up. We collaborate together to design a paint class that targets the age group, personality, and theme of your choice. Choose from one of the following programs: Shape: Birdhouses How do I use three dimensional shapes to create a structure? Students will be guided through the steps to create their own ceramic birdhouse by creating a three dimensional cone and cylinder. They will then be taught slipping and scoring in order to put these two structures together. Texture: Ceramic Letter How do we use texture in art to create interest? Students will be guided through the steps to create their own ceramic letters. They will be slab rolling, rolling texture into their slab and then using stencils to cut out letters. They will also have the option to add cookie cutter shapes to their letter. Form: Ceramic Bowls How to we use simple forms to make our bowl into an animal. Students will be guided through the steps to create their own ceramic bowls out of clay. Students will roll slabs of clay, cut out their clay with a stencil and then use our clay bowls to turn their clay into a bowl. Then we will add coil legs, and a sphere head to our bowl. Space: How do we use the element of space to create an image? Students will be guided through the steps of creating
